Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known by her highly commendable performances in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her film Piano was awarded an Oscar. Her career began as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. She has had a passion for acting ever since when she was in the school. Her first role in a show in the fifth grade was in Helen Keller. The mumps caused her to lose hearing in one her ear, however this was not enough to stop the actress from following her dreams. At college, she was a theatre student and then moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in the lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. The first time she appeared in a film was when she moved to Los Angeles. Her professional career spans over 30 years and she's appeared in numerous TV shows or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
